Who is responsible?
Somni is operated by Ferhat Korkmaz (Türkiye). For privacy questions and requests, contact ferhat@ferhatkorkmaz.com. This notice covers Somni.
What we process and why
We process your account and device identifiers, optional preferred name, language, time zone, preferences, journal entries, selected feelings, AI insights and personalization history to provide your journal. We also process subscription transaction identifiers, access status, usage counts and technical/security records to operate and protect the service. Payment card details are handled by Apple or Google, not Somni. Avoid including information about other people or sensitive details you do not want processed.
AI and service providers
To generate insights and personalized choices, relevant journal text, selections and context are sent to OpenAI. Responses are generated automatically and can be wrong. Core Somni data is stored using AWS in Frankfurt (eu-central-1). Expo, Apple and Google help deliver notifications and purchases. Providers may process data outside your country under their own applicable terms and safeguards. We do not sell journal data.
Notifications and your choices
If you enable notifications, we store a push token, language and reminder preferences. Notifications may include reminders or service messages; lock-screen text may be visible to others. Turn them off in Somni or your device settings. Optional notification permission can be withdrawn without losing access to your journal.
Storage, deletion and your rights
Journal data is retained to provide your account until you delete entries or your account in Settings. Security, deletion-prevention, administrative audit records and backups may remain separately; deletion is not a promise of immediate removal from every provider or backup. Contact us to request access, correction, a copy, deletion, restriction or objection where applicable, or to ask about international transfers. You may complain to your relevant data protection authority. Processing needed to provide the service is based on that purpose; security and abuse prevention serve legitimate interests, and optional permissions rely on your choices.

Advertising measurement
If you are 18 or older, you can allow Somni to share app activity, trial and subscription events, device identifiers and technical data with Meta. Meta can match this with activity in other apps and websites to measure and improve Somni ads. Your journal text, feelings, AI insights, name and email are never sent. This is optional. You can turn it off here at any time; declining does not affect Somni features.
